This past weekend's Sunday dinner was simple. I was feeling slightly lazy so I decided I'd use my Christmas gift to make something gourmet, that wouldn't take a lot of prep time. Also, I was pretty inspired because my brother made this same dish for Christmas and it turned out delicious!

Veal Shanks are tied so that the meat cooks with the bone and doesn't completely fall off during the cooking process.
The veal is cooked on low heat for 2 hours in a dutch oven until the meat is falling off the bones. The flavor comes from a bouquet garni of thyme, bay leaves, rosemary, and clove.
This low maintenance dish can be paired with a nice dry white wine. The bone marrow is definitely a nice bonus at the end so don't forget to savor every part!
